Who we are
At Roco Health Group, we connect people with better health and increase access to essential care because we understand their struggles firsthand. Our founder, Priscilla Rodriguez-Colon, became an expert in navigating the complex healthcare system during an eight-year battle caring for her mother-in-law, who suffered from a rare brain infection. This experience shaped Priscilla into the fierce advocate she is today.
Recognizing similar struggles within the Latino community and other minority groups, Priscilla founded Roco Health Group in 2023. Our mission extends beyond medical care; we address social determinants of health and support to secure federal and state benefits and improve well-being. We guide our clients through the complexities of Medicaid, Medicare, and other programs, continuing our commitment to compassion and advocacy, one life at a time. Roco Health Group is located in New Jersey and is licensed to serve clients in NJ, NY, and PA.

Medicare is federal health insurance for anyone age 65 and older, and some people under 65 with certain disabilities or conditions. Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that gives health coverage to some people with limited income and resources.
-
When you had both Medicare and Medicaid, Medicaid likely covered your Medicare premiums, deductibles, and copayments, making you "dual eligible." Without Medicaid, you’re now responsible for these costs. Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance) have their own cost-sharing requirements, including premiums, deductibles, and copayments, which you must pay out-of-pocket. If these expenses are a burden, consider exploring Aged, Blind, and Disabled Medicaid or Medicare Savings Programs that can help cover these costs based on your income and assets.

Medicare has several key enrollment periods: the Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which spans seven months around your 65th birthday; the General Enrollment Period (GEP) from January 1 to March 31 for those who missed their IEP; and the Annual Election Period (AEP) from October 15 to December 7, allowing you to make changes to your plan. Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) are also available for specific life events. Medicaid, on the other hand, offers year-round enrollment based on eligibility, with special enrollment periods for qualifying events and, in some states, specific open enrollment periods for Medicaid Managed Care Plans.
